Morgan & Derek tied the knot at Kildara Farm in Sydney, B.C. Not going to lie, I felt an extra element of excitement in photographing their wedding. Not only would I be seeing some of my own cousins, but Morgan has been super supportive of my crazy life and seems to really trust me. Trust helps create the best images!!! I wanted to share a few photos to show off the venue, the guests and the fun, and of course the love.
Kildara Farm is location in North Sannich, just a 7 min drive for me from the Swartz bay ferry terminal. It offers simple yet elegant weddings.
One of my favoutire parts of photograhing weddings here is the lady that puts it all together. Sarah Hughes is amazing!! You will see her personal touches all over these photos. She created the scene for getting ready and put together the amazing reception area with all her unique bits and bobs.
Yes this wedding cake was made on Vancouver Island by the one and only Sarah Hughes.
Every wedding needs a "cute little girl". This little lady was hugely helpful to the bridesmaid, and just a joy to have around. Her presence helped to make everyone even more relaxed (if that was possible).
This necessity also applies to cute little boys. I was warned that this little man was quite challenging to capture. He would run away if I pointed my camera towards him. So It was on!! I loved sneaking around to photograph this boy, and I ended up capturing a little more of his view of the day.
The rings! So this unique take on a "ring pillow" was hand made by a family member named Ted. I loved it! Its always a precarious situation. How do the valuable and symbolic rings safely go from the box to the person leading the ceremony? I've seen it all! Rings being dropped, it taking an awkward amount of time to take them out of the box, to the rings actually being completely lost. This is a beautiful way to keep them safe and bring them to the ceremony in style. Way to go Ted!
Its not a true farm without food! Apples, Apples, Apples!!
